Rishi Sunak has said he will not measure the success of his visit to the Cop28 climate talks by the hours spent on the ground but by the actions he has taken, as he ended a whistlestop trip to Dubai.
The prime minister spent just over 12 hours in Dubai, in contrast to Sir Keir Starmer, the Labour leader, and the King, who are both spending two days at the international conference.
Sunak said he had had incredibly positive conversations with world leaders and said: “I’m actually very confident that what we’ve achieved here is significant.”
He announced the world’s largest wind farm would be built in northeast England and £1.6 billion of loss and damage funding for countries most impacted by climate change.
