Ryanair expects its passenger numbers to collapse by as much as 95 per cent in the coming weeks to levels not seen since the first lockdown last spring.
Europe’s biggest airline revised down expectations for its financial year to the end of March for the seventh time in eight months yesterday as it struggles to calibrate the impact of the coronavirus.
In an unscheduled statement it said that it now expects to carry between 26 million and 30 million passengers in the 12 months to the end of March, a shortfall of more than 80 per cent on the 160 million-plus passengers that it would have expected to carry on its 470 aircraft.
