Rumours spread over the weekend that parents were being left without child benefit payments, but HMRC has issued a statement allaying fears. They also urged people to check their bank accounts again after the weekend.
There had been reports over the weekend that thousands of parents hadn't received the monthly payment that usually comes at the end of each month. But HMRC said the money was not actually due until Monday, June 3, or the next day.

A spokesperson for HMRC acknowledged they had been made aware of the rumours, but said in a statement: "“There are no issues with the child benefit system. Although payments can arrive in customers' accounts over the weekend, they aren’t actually due until Monday or Tuesday. We suggest customers check their accounts after the weekend.”
You get child benefit if you’re responsible for bringing up a child who is under 16, or under 20 if they stay in approved education or training. Only one person can get child benefit for a child, but there’s no limit to how many children you can claim for. An allowance is paid to a parent for each child, which you usually get every four weeks.
