Rebel Bradford hairdresser Quinn Blakey hits out at Amazon as it opens new hair salon - Yorkshire Live

Rebel hairdresser Sinead Quinn has criticised Amazon for their plans to open a hair salon and says it will 'ruin' the hairdressing industry.

The controversial hairdresser, from Bradford, who failed to shut-up-shop during previous Covid lockdowns, amassing thousands of pounds worth of fines, took to Instagram to criticise the online retailer giant following the announcement of Amazon's first ever hair salon in London.

She posted a screen shot of the Amazon Hair Salon from @behindthechair_com in an angry social media spat to share her views.

Sinead captioned the post: "Another industry about to be ruined by the big dogs."

Amazon announced the new hair salon on Tuesday, it comes as the e-commerce giant continues to explore new lines of business and promote some of the items it sells on its platform.

The Amazon Salon is said to be taking their first bookings from the public in "the coming weeks."

The Bradford hairdresser, who owns salon Quinn Blakey Hairdressing, currently owes Kirklees Council nearly £20,000 worth of Covid fines for previously failing to close her salon which, under current Covid rules, is deemed a 'non-essential business'.

In January she threatened to reopen once again under the 'Great Opening' - but arrived at her Oakenshaw salon to find police - and press - there waiting for her.

Ms Quinn is yet to pay a single penny of the fines issued - despite raising half of what she owes using a GoFundMe page that she set up in November last year.

She said that the reason for setting up the GoFundMe appeal was so that "people don't take it upon themselves to create a GoFundMe on my behalf", adding that she does not think Kirklees Council will be successful in "extorting" money from her.
