Tesco introduces new 'rationing' policy with three item limit on some products - My London

Supermarket giant Tesco has introduced a three item limit on some products following the introduction of new coronavirus restrictions.

The popular grocer said new stockpiling restrictions now apply on essential products including: flour, dried pasta, toilet roll, baby wipes and anti-bacterial wipes.

There are additional limits online on items such as tinned vegetables and rice.

A spokesperson from Tesco told The Mirror : "We have good availability, with plenty of stock to go round, and we would encourage our customers to shop as normal.

"To ensure that everyone can keep buying what they need, we have introduced bulk-buy limits on a small number of products."

In a separate message, the supermarket chain urged customers to wear face coverings when shopping in stores.

It said disposable masks are available to buy at the entrance of all branches.

"To help our customers shop safely, we will also have colleagues at the entrances of our larger stores to remind customers about the safety measures we have in place, including the legal requirement to wear a face covering."
