Live: McDonald's announces drive-thrus will re-open across Nottingham today - Nottinghamshire Live

More McDonald's drive-thrus are reopening today in Notts after 11 weeks in lockdown.

The first in the county to reopen was at Markham Moor roundabout, Retford, yesterday.

Today (Wednesday, June 3) drive-thru lanes will be back up and running at the fast food restaurants at Castle Marina, Nuthall Road, Valley Road, Victoria Retail Park, Arnold, Bulwell, Clifton and Radcliffe Road, West Bridgford.

Fast food lovers can expect a limited menu which means for now there's no breakfast or milkshakes.

However, Maccy D fans can order all the classics including Big Macs, Quarter Pounds, cheeseburgers, Filet-O-Fish and Chicken McNuggets.

Vegetarians have a choice of Veggie Dippers and Vegetable Deluxe.

Fries, Mozzarella Dippers and the McFlurry with Oreo, Maltesters and Smarties are also on the menu along with drinks including coffee, tea, fizzy drinks, wate and orange juice.

For the kids there's Happy Meals with hamburgers, cheeseburgers, nuggets and Veggie Dippers.

There are fewer employees in the kitchen to enable staff to social distance and work safely.

Opening hours are reduced, currently 11am to 10pm, and contactless payment is encouraged, with a maximum £25 spend.

Anyone visiting the drive-thru is urged to browse the menu, order and pay ahead using the My McDonald’s App and they'll start preparing your order when you’re near the restaurant.

It's been a long 11-week closure which has seen McDonald's fans resort to recreating their favourites at home.
