Suppliers have been letting customers know how much they can expect to pay when the price cap set by the energy regulator Ofgem goes up 54 per cent on April 1.
The price cap limits the amount suppliers can charge per unit of electricity and gas, but it applies only to customers on standard variable tariffs (SVTs), which can fluctuate in line with wholesale energy prices.
