BT raids Asos to appoint Adam Crozier as new chairman - The Times

BT has picked the former chief executive of Royal Mail and ITV to be its new chairman, The Sunday Times can reveal, as the former state telecoms monopoly enters a critical period.

Adam Crozier is expected to resign as chairman of the online fashion retailer Asos to focus on the role, although he is tipped to stay on as chairman of Whitbread, the owner of Premier Inn, and Kantar, the data analytics business spun out of advertising giant WPP.

Crozier is understood to have edged out three other final candidates for the BT chairmanship.

The appointment comes as BT plans to roll out full-fibre broadband to 25 million premises by 2026, having received favourable terms in March from the industry regulator Ofcom on the returns
