The latest supermarket recalls including chicken that could have salmonella - Herts Live

Over the past month, the UK's leading supermarkets have all recalled products, which are unsafe to eat.

Ranging from frozen items, fresh food and even sweeteners, Lidl, Sainsbury's and more have had to recall them.

There are a number of reasons these items are getting recalled but ultimately it is because they are unsafe for consumption.

Some of them may contain pieces of plastic or even traces of salmonella.

So here are the latest products which have been urgently recalled by supermarkets in October:

Sainsbury's Cooked Mussels (frozen)

Sainsbury's is recalling the frozen Sainsbury's Cooked Mussels over fears it may be contaminated with salmonella.

This is after salmonella was found in some of the products in this batch.

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps

Anyone with this affected item is due a full refund from your local Sainsbury's store.

Roosters Southern Fried Chicken products

Aldi Roosters Southern Fried Poppin' Chicken and Breaded Poppin' Chicken

Aldi has extended its recall of two Roosters chicken products due to it possibly containing salmonella.

The two products being recalled are the Roosters Southern Fried Poppin' Chicken and Roosters Breaded Poppin' Chicken.

All batches and best before dates are being recalled so anyone with this item should take it back to Aldi for a full refund and should not eat it.

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

Simply Mature White Cheddar

Lidl's Simply Mature White Cheddar

This product, which is sold in Lidl, may contain pieces of plastic which makes it ultimately unsafe to it.

Anyone with this product before December 26 this year is due a full refund at their local Lidl store.

No.1 Dominican Republic Milk Chocolate 49%

Waitrose No.1 Dominican Republic Milk Chocolate

Due to undeclared allergens on the label of this product, Waitrose & Partners is recalling it.

The Waitrose No. 1 Dominican Republic Milk Chocolate 49% because some products contain almonds, hazelnuts and soya which aren't mentioned on the label.

Due to a packaging error, some products contain Waitrose No.1 Orange & Almond Chocolate instead. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds, hazelnuts (nuts) and/or soya.

Cologran Sucralose sweetener tablets

Lidl Cologran Sweetener Tablets, Suvralose Variant

Lidl is recalling this product due to aspartame (E951) not being mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk to sufferers of phenylketonuria (PKU).

Batch codes: L 00083 A, L00083 B, L00149 A

Best before dates: end dates: January 2023, February 2023.

Sau Tao (ST) Spinach Noodle

Liroy B.V. is recalling Sau Tao (ST) Spinach Noodle because it contains egg which is not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

Best before dates: all dates including and after September 1, 2021

Cologran Stevia sweetener tablets

This product is also being recalled by Lidl due to it containing aspartame (E951) which isn't included on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk to sufferers of phenylketonuria (PKU).
